Roy Jacob Lowery August 27 1936 June 28 2018 (age 81)

Roy Jacob Lowery, 81, of Charlotte, died Thursday, June 28 at his home. Born in Pageland, SC, he was the son of the late Louise Mills and Thomas Arthur Lowery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Eury Lowery; brothers Copeland, Elbert, and Wilson Lowery; a sister Margaret Lowery Phifer; a daughter Debra Masterson; and a grandson Michael Masterson. Those left to cherish his memory include his children Patricia Gail McGinnis and her husband Kevin of Kings Mountain; grandson Dudley Barton of Mount Holly; granddaughter Tiffany Short of Denver, NC; and a great granddaughter Chloe Kennedy. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m on Monday July 2nd in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly with the Rev. Dr. Mike Varn officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m also at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill.
