Roger J. Gazzola 85, of Dillonvale, died Saturday June 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Wheeling Hospital. He was born March 11, 1933 in Piney Fork, a son of the late August and Asunta M. (Dal Pos) Gazzola. He was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburg Steel Co. Mingo Junction Plant, a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church Dillonvale, an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He also was a member of the Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post #529, the Dillonvale-Mt. Pleasant Lions Club, and the Pine Valley Sportsman Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Edward Gazzola, and two sisters Eve Louise Sharpe, and Erma Chiappetti. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Doris (Kinyo) Gazzola, a son Craig (Kathy) Gazzola of Martins Ferry, a daughter Lisa (Merl) Sebring of Mt. Pleasant, two grandchildren Derek Sebring and his fiancée Karley Smith, and Olivia Gazzola and her fiancée Seth Scott, also several nieces and nephews, and one special niece Judy Gazzola Bonnell. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale on Tuesday June 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with wake service at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Adalbert Catholic Church Dillonvale with Msgr. John Kolesar as celebrant, entombment will be at Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Pleasant Grove. Full Military Graveside will be conducted by the McCook Post of the American Legion.
