Obituary for Mr. Roderick Ozell Thorpe Mr. Roderick Ozell Thorpe was born on February 8, 1969 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the youngest son of Frances Thorpe and the late Bobby Thorpe. The Lord called him home on June 13, 2018. Mr. Thorpe attended Abraham Lincoln HS in Brooklyn and went on to work side by side with his mom as co-owner of Bobby’s Coffee Shop for 32 years. He loved sports and was a huge NY Jets football and Yankees baseball fan. He had a great easy going selfless spirit and would always put others ahead of himself. He considered himself a connoisseur of good food and loved a crisp pair of sneakers and a sharp hair cut. He leaves behind his mother Frances Thorpe, his three brothers Bobby, Randall (Danette) Christopher (Juliette) and sister Joiee Thorpe. He is preceded in death by his father Bobby Thorpe and Brother Andre Thorpe. He leaves to cherish a host of relatives and friends. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 2:00p.m.- 4:00p.m., at Scarborough & Hargett Celebration of Life Center, Inc., 309 N. Queen Street, Durham, NC 27701.
