Sheldon – Robert E. Sweet, Jr. a lifelong resident of this area passed away, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Northwestern Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Fairfield on April 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert and Henrietta (Therrien) Sweet. Robert was 75 years. On October 26, 1963, in St. Louis Catholic Church, he married Gloria (Church) Sweet, who survives him. Robert was a longtime employee with Harrison Concrete Company and was an avid hunter… Read More » and fisherman. He enjoyed raising pigs and chickens. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gloria and their children, Laura Sweet and her partner, Robert Wagner, Amy Sweet and her partner, Jeffrey LeClair, Richard Sweet and his wife, Hope, and Stacie Sweet and her partner, Roger Brow; 2 daughters-in-law, Lisa Sweet and April Bushey, as well as his grandchildren, Melissa Sweet, Dawna Wagner, David Sweet, Jr., Kacy Wagner, Daniel Sweet, Josh Sweet, Cassandra Sweet, Jayson LeClair, Jesse Sweet, Adam LeClair, Jeffrey LeClair, Christopher Sweet, Eric LeClair, Faith Sweet, Richard Sweet, II, Erin Sweet and Cheyanne Bertrand and 14 great-grandchildren, who Robert dearly loved. Robert is also survived by his brother, George Sweet and his wife, Linda; his sisters, Ethel Sweet, Shirley Burnor and her husband, Terry, and Dorothy Draper and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was pre-deceased by his twin sons, Daniel Sweet on August 4, 1988 and David Sweet, Sr. on June 24, 2004 and son, Robert Sweet, III on July 17, 2016, grandson, Joseph Sweet on September 15, 2012, and his brothers, Raymond, Gordy, Fredrick and Ronny.
