Bob (Robert Edward), husband to Christine Ann (Guddo), father to Lindsay Maria and Joseph Teo, passed away on Sunday June 17, 2018 due to a short term illness. Besides his wife and kids he leaves so many friends, family members, and colleagues who will always remember his sense of humor and positive attitude. Bob was born to Edward Bialczak and Evelyn Sovik on June 20, 1963 in Mount Prospect, Illinois. Christine would tease Bob that they were a match made in heaven, inseparable in many of the things they did over the years. He and Christine were married at St. George’s Church in Guilford on November 23, 1996 surrounded by friends and family. Bob was a proud member of the Connecticut Carpenters Union Local 24, the Knights of Columbus, and the Sprague Rod and Gun Club. After graduating from Guilford High School in 1981, Bob attended the University of New Haven and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. Bob worked for numerous union and non-union companies over the years and worked his way up from Carpenter Journeyman to Construction Superintendent. Despite his long hours at work he was always willing to help out friends and family in his free time in anyway that was needed. Bob was a hard worker and took pride in all he did. Whether it was a picnic table, venues at Mohegan Sun, or an 80-unit apartment complex, Bob’s expertise was seen in his craftsmanship, never settling for anything less than perfect. Bob was a fun, easy-going coworker and boss, usually the prankster on all of his jobs. He made everyone around him smile and was respectful to all of the trades and levels of expertise on any job site. He met many good friends through his career. At home Bob loved being outdoors. He could often be found sleeping outside under the stars, into the early hours of the morning. He would find tasks around the house and in the yard, keeping busy for hours on end. He was giving and everything he did, he did it for someone else. Bob was so proud of his children and all of their accomplishments and although he didn’t always show it, he beamed with pride when talking about his kids. He and Christine enjoyed camping and visiting wineries, as well as vacationing. The most recent trip to the Dominican Republic was considered a second honeymoon with his wife. He will be missed and although the years will continue without him he will always be remembered for his love, care, and the commitment he had to his family. Rest in Peace. Friends are invited to a celebration of life on Wednesday, June 27 from 5 – 8 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.
