Randy Ira Tyler, 62, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at his home on South Wheelock Road in Wheelock, Vt. Randy was born in Amsterdam, NY, on September 9, 1955, to Roger and Roberta (Rhodes) Tyler. He raised and educated in Perth, NY, graduating from Perth High School Class of 1973. After high school, he joined the Coast Guard and served for 5 years. Randy then went to college on the GI Bill. He received an Associate Degree from New Hampshire Community College. He spent his entire working life in computers as a hardware specialist. On June 13, 1997, he married Carolyn Hawley and they shared almost 21 years together. Randy hunted in the past but more recently enjoyed target shooting. He was a fan of Star Trek and Star Wars. He did get to see the latest Star Wars movie. Randy loved his Native American heritage. He was active in and danced in many Pow-Wows. He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Tyler of Wheelock, VT; his mother: Roberta Tyler of Amsterdam, NY; his father: Roger Tyler and wife, Nancy, of Amsterdam, NY; a son: Jody Tyler and wife, Cathy, of Durham, ME; two daughters: Tabitha Szczepanic and husband, Gabriel, of NH and Danielle Tyler of Canaan, VT; stepchildren: Brett Bradley of Somerville, MA, Stephanie Fisk and husband, Carrington, of Keene, NH, and Alicia Bradley and husband, Brad, of Hammond, LA; and 11 grandchildren. Randy was predeceased by his sister: Gina Tyler. A Native American Service is being planned with details to be announced.
