Obituary for Peggy Louise Hammel Peggy Louise Hammel, 83, Tallahassee, FL, passed away June 18, 2018 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road, on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Peggy was born in Ashtabula, Ohio to Kester and Mary Wade on July 17, 1934. She attended Kent State University. She married her late husband Noel Hammel in 1960. Peggy was employed by North Florida Christian School for many years and then boldly pursued her dream of becoming a florist. She was a member of the Tallahassee Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, creating floral arrangements and cherished spending time with her family, enthusiastically attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and lovingly conversing with her siblings. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Kester and Mary; her husband Noel; and her brother Jack. Peggy is survived by her sisters Helen, Martha (James), MaryAnn, her brothers Lynn (Lynda) and Dennis; her son Michael (Karen) Hammel; daughters Marybeth (Mark) Demont, Jean (David) Hulse; six grandchildren Marissa Hammel, Dustin Dye, Delaney Dye, Cameron Hammel, Matt Hulse and Lane Hulse. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Patel (Florida Cancer Specialists) and Dr. Giove (Southern Medical Group) and their respective teams for their exceptional care of Peggy.
