Obituary for Ofilia Avila Arellano Ofilia Avila Arellano, 85 of Grand Island went to her Heavenly home Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at CHI Health-St. Francis. Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Abundant Life Christian Center. Pastor Gene Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Ofilia was born August 21, 1932 at San Saba, Texas the daughter of Ysedo and Ramona (Rivas) Reyna. She was raised and received her education in Gibbon, Nebraska. On October 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to Theodore Avila. They made their home in Grand Island. Mr. Avila died in 1991. Later she married David Arellano in 1997. Mr. Arellano died in 2001. Ofilia lived her life for her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved encouraging others. She treasured her family and time spent with them. As a wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma she enjoyed cooking and being a homemaker. Survivors include her children, Mary (Jorge) Macias of Grand Island, Chi (Merna) Avila of Grand Island, Martha (Marvin) Luebbe of Grand Island and Noah (Carmella) Avila of St. Louis, MO; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Pricilla Garza of Grand Island and Pat Sutherland of Waurika, Oklahoma and numerous other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Avila; son, Robert Avila; daughter, Victoria Guzman and second husband, David Arellano. A memorial fund will be established in memory of Ofilia.
