Obituary for Nancy Lou Hubbert Nancy Lou Hubbert of Federalsburg, MD, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at University Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She was 73. She was born on July 26, 1944 in East New Market, MD, the daughter of the late Ross E. Smith and Louise C. Crane. She graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1962. She later went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Salisbury University and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Delaware. She married the love of her life, James Hubbert, on February 24, 1965. She was a professor at Chesapeake College in the nursing program and truly loved her students. She enjoyed going to all of her granddaughter Jocelynn’s concerts and taking rides with her husband James. She loved flowers and mallard ducks and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and shopping, especially in Cape May. She is survived by her husband, James Hubbert, her son, J.J. Hubbert (Jennifer), her granddaughter, Jocelynn Hubbert, a sister, Patricia S. Gauen (Richard), a great friend, Laura Higgs, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Eskridge, Bettye Ross Smith, and Virginia Lee Mills, and a brother, James C. Smith. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11am at Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg, MD with Pastor Pam Bockart officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg from 6-8pm, as well as Wednesday from 10-11am at Christ United Methodist Church prior to the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the Chesapeake College Nursing Program, PO Box 8, Wye Mills, MD 21679. Services entrusted to the Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg.
