Mildred Silagy 1920 2018

Obituary of Mildred Silagy Mildred Silagy, 98, of Edison, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison. Mrs. Silagy was born in Perth Amboy to the late Abraham and Pauline Swerling and had lived in Edison for the past seventy-eight years. Mildred was a registered nurse. She was formerly employed by the Edison Township Department of Health before going to work with Doctors Ainslie, Dawson and Carlson in Metuchen for forty-five years, before retiring in 1985. She was also the Administrative Assistant for Silagy and Sons , Inc. and the assistant secretary for Silagy Contracting, LLC. She was a member and dedicated volunteer at the Grace Reformed Church in Edison. Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Charles Silagy in 2000 and also by her sister Sylvia Arkin. Surviving are her son: Robert C. Silagy and wife Jennifer of Bamber Lake, NJ, her two daughters: Marilyn Weisgerber of North Palm Beach, FL and Janis and husband Dr. Phillip Miller of Jupiter, FL, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
