Obituary of Michael Jay NORWOOD – Calling hours for 67 year old Michael F. “Mitch” Jay Sr., a resident of 10 High Street, Norwood, will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. Rev. Lee Sweeney will offer a prayer at 1 p.m. with graveside services to follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. Mr. Jay passed away early Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home with his family at his side. Mike is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary, Norwood; his two sons, Jason (Michelle) Jay, Chittenango, NY; Michael (Kristie) Jay, Ft. Wayne, IN; two daughters, Patricia Jay (Rick Senecal), Potsdam; Rose (Ben) Ellison, Norfolk; his five grandchildren, Kane, Kynlie, Aubrey, Elizabeth and Lillian; his mother, Shirley Snyder Jay, his four brothers and four sisters. Mike is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rose Wagstaff, as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Potsdam, NY on April 25, 1951 to Frederick and Shirley Snyder Jay, Mike graduated from Norwood-Norwood Central and received an Associate’s Degree from SUNY Canton. He worked for ALCOA as a lab technician in Massena for 33 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, camping with his friends and family, building model airplanes and tinkering on cars.
