Obituary of Michael DeRosa CHESHIRE- Michael Anthony DeRosa, 66, passed away, Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. He was the loving husband of Barbara G. (Treuting) DeRosa who he was married to for 36 years. Mr. DeRosa was born January 19, 1952 in Detroit, MI son of the late Dominic and Loretta (Bialczyk) DeRosa. Michael worked for the United States Postal Service in the Fairfield Office for the past 35 years. He spent his childhood growing up at Laurel Beach in Milford. Mr. DeRosa was an avid tennis player, sailor, and golfer. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Christina Marie DeRosa of Cheshire; five siblings Elaine DeRosa Young of Coventry, RI, Lisa DeRosa of Guilford, Steve DeRosa of Fairfield, Dominic and his wife Theresa of West Haven, Robert DeRosa of Ansonia, CT; five nephews; and two nieces. Arrangements- Calling hours for Michael will be held from 2 to 5 P.M, Sunday, June 3, 2018 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Michael’s funeral will start 9 A.M, Monday, June 4, 2018 from the funeral home and proceed to the Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire, 06410, for a funeral mass at 10 A.M. Burial will be private. Donations in Mr. DeRosa’s name can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington DC 20090-8018, or the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr, Wallingford, CT 06492.
