Obituary of Mauro Ruocco Mauro “Moe” Ruocco passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, June 24, 2018, surrounded by his family. Moe was born June 19, 1935 in Corning, NY to Antoinette and Sebastian Ruocco. He attended Northside Blodgett before enlisting in the US Army. He served from 1956 to 1958. He then worked for Corning Incorporated for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He excelled at sports in school and continued to play golf regularly. Moe was a parishioner at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church. Moe was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help. He was well loved by all who knew him, and he could always be found at R&M with his friends having early morning coffee. Family was important to him, as he gathered with his brothers and sister-in-law daily. Moe is survived by his brothers: Serterio (Donna) Ruocco and Joseph A. Ruocco; nephews and niece and their families: Ralph (Patti) Ruocco, Michael (Lisa) Ruocco, Daniel (Cathy) Ruocco, Stephanie (Jim) Spry and David Ruocco. Per his wishes, there will be a gathering at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Park Ave., Corning on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 am, followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Corning VFW, 281 Baker Street, Corning from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. All are welcome. Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
