Obituary for Martha Nadeau, Martha Bishop (Bartlett) Nadeau, 90, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 1st, at the Agawam Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond Nadeau. She was born in New Britain on Sept. 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Felix and Eva (Champlain) Bartlett. She spent the majority of her life residing in Plainville, and was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church. She was widowed young when her first husband Van Bishop died in an auto accident. She then met and married her beloved husband Raymond Nadeau, also a widower, whom she doted on and adored. Her children, and children by marriage, Mary Eyres, Vanette Wadsworth, Deena Shirley and Mark Bishop, Ann Odem, Jane Savitski, Bruce Nadeau, Frank Wadsworth and Phyllis Bishop, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren survive her. Each held a special place in her heart. Martha loved all things beautiful: art, music, flowers and enjoyed gardening, painting, floral arranging and decorating. Who she truly was as a person was reflected best in these things. “Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.” We are grateful to have glimpsed this beauty. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 6th at 1:30 pm at Oak Hill Cemetery in Southington. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. is assisting with arrangements.
