Mark was born March 3, 1958 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Billy Joe and LaVerne (Compton) Dawson. He was raised in the Shawnee area. Mark was a member of the Wanette Church of Christ. Mark is preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Dawson; and brother, Kenny Ray Dawson.
