Clinton Mrs. Margaret Jernigan Boykin, 103 of 120 Southwood Dr., passed away Monday, June 18th, 2018 at Mary Gran Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21st, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, 408 College St., with Dr. Ray Ammons and Rev. Jean Hatch officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. Born on May 31st, 1915 in Sampson County, Margaret was the daughter of the late Jesse and Suda Baggett Jernigan and the widow of the late Vonnie Raymond Boykin. Margaret was a homemaker who loved and cared for her family and was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. Margaret is survived by her two sons: Raymond Boykin, Jr. and wife, Rita and Thomas Boykin and wife, Liz both of Apex; four grandchildren: Mandi Matthews, Katie Neal, Emily Howard and Matt Boykin and eight great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Sherwood Strickland and brother, Luby Jernigan. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:15AM in the Chapel of First Baptist Church.
