Obituary for Louise A. Burke Louise A. Burke, age 90, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at her son’s home in Manassas, VA. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Mary Baker Ennis. Louise was predeceased by her husband Ralph H. Burke of 43 years. She is survived by two sons: Joe Burke (Mary Beth) of Manassas and Stanley “Sonny” Burke (Jenell) of Conway, S.C.; five grandchildren: Jennifer Cozzone (Tony) of Mooresville, NC., Brian Burke (April) of Winchester, VA., Greg Burke (Samantha) of Manassas, Heather Burke of Waco, TX and Kristen Young (Josh) of Fletcher, NC; eight great grandchildren: Haley, Hannah and Hayden Burke; Ellie and Evan Cozzone; Ally and Grant Burke; Lila Anne Young. Louise lived and worked hard on a dairy farm in Nokesville with her husband for more than 30 years. While on the farm they provided a home for several young men including Donald Van Steenburgh and Charles Weeks. She enjoyed working in the yard and loved mowing the grass on her riding lawn mower. She looked forward to visits from her friends and family or talking to them on the phone. She loved all types of sports and enjoyed watching her favorite teams play on TV. She really enjoyed watching her family play in their various sports activities. Nanny as she was affectionately called, was a great mother to both of her children and all the young men raised on the farm. Later in life she worked at Fairview Grocery, Winslow Grocery and Buddy’s Market. She loved her children and was so excited about every visit. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA at 12:00 Noon where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow at Catlett Methodist Cemetery in Catlett, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: National Kidney Foundation, 1622 E.
