Loren E. “Gene” Collins 80, of Morgantown, passed away on March 16, 2018 at home. Gene was born on May 17, 1937 in Martinsville, IN to the late Loren Collins and Velma (Bayliff) Collins. Gene was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #103 for over 60 years and a member of the Brooklyn Masonic Lodge. He loved old trucks, yardwork, mushroom hunting. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Rhonda Collins of Greenwood, Sharon Barnett of Greenwood, Kent Collins of Cataract, sisters; Ruth Ferguson Buchanan of Illinois, Nancy Sue Smith of Indianapolis, Linda Kay Collins of Mooresville, brother; Alan (Kathy) Collins of Mooresville, two granddaughters; Nicole (Jay) Gastineau, Heidi (Dylan) Sims, six great grandchildren; Mason, A.J., Sybilla, Serenity, Gunner, Oakley Rose and best friend; Ron (Cheryl) Forsythe. A time of remembering Gene’s life will be held Saturday from 1-3pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. He will be cremated and his internment will be private.
