Obituary for Lois Gentry Lois Caudle Gentry, age 87 of Glade Valley, NC passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was born May 26, 1931 in Alleghany County to the late Alfred C. and Mozelle Jolly Caudle. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Carl David Gentry, whom she married in 1958 and who passed away on May 19, 1994, and by one brother, Dwane Caudle. She was a graduate of Sparta High School and City Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Winston-Salem. She was a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room, a member of the Army Nurse Corp. Reserve and an American Red Cross Nurse. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Libby Caudle of Glade Valley; one nephew, Dr. Mark Caudle and wife Deanie of Beavercreek, OH; two great-nieces, Catherine Caudle and Stephanie Caudle of Orlando, FL; one great-nephew, Thomas Caudle of Beavercreek, OH; several cousins also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Lois at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Jonesville First Baptist Church, 134 Winston Road, Jonesville, NC 28642, where she was a faithful member. Pastor Roger Hensley will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Glade Valley, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home and will also receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, PO Box 1205, Winston-Salem, NC 27102-1205, which was her favorite charity, The American Red Cross of Western North Carolina, 2435 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28203, or to Mountain Valley Hospice of Elkin, 688 N. Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to extend special thanks to the many family and friends who provided support, and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice.
