Obituary for LaVerne Riddle Dunn Frazier LaVerne Riddle Dunn Frazier, age 98, of Bristol, TN went to meet her friends and family who have gone before her, on the morning of June 16, 2018. Born in Erwin, TN in 1920, she lived 90 years in Bristol as was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church. After graduating from Virginia Intermont College in 1941, she married William C. “Buddy” Dunn, who predeceased her in 1978. Her parents were Dr. Arthur C. Riddle and Lucille “Lucy” Farmer and Dr. Arthur C. “Dood” Riddle, Jr. (wife, Sophie Goodpasture) was her only sibling. She was remarried in 1989 to Fred S. Frazier who predeceased her in June, 2017. LaVerne enjoyed participating in many area clubs – DAR, PEO, Hill & Dale Garden Club, Three Arts Club, Bristol Library Board and many more. She was also past president of the Blue Stocking Club. As a member of First Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed being part of the Women of the Church, the choir, and arranging the alter flowers for Sunday and special services. Survivors include a daughter, Diane Dunn Harrison and husband, Robert of Florida and Canada; a son, William C. Dunn, Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Knoxville, TN and step-daughters; Melinda Frazier Michaels of Sacramento, CA; Nancy Frazier Cook of Greenville, SC and Susie Frazier Arnold and husband, Jim of Beaver Creek, OR. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Mary Alice Little of Johnson City, TN; Lucy Hayes of Knoxville, TN; Lisa Ehrhart of Port Orange, FL; Joseph Dunn of Boston, MA; Amy Dunn of Seattle, WA and their respective spouses and children, with one precious great-great-grandson. Survivors also include the children and grandchildren of her step-daughters and multiple nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church. The family welcomes visitors from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. A private burial will be held in Shelby Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Dunn, Alec Rinehart, Aaron (AJ) Rinehart, Kenneth Hayes, Dylan Ehrhart, Robert Harrison, Todd Ehrhart and Roy Little. The family would like to thank the caregivers from Home Helpers and Respite RX, LLC, Advanced Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Cancer Society, First Presbyterian Church of Bristol or the charity of choice.
