Obituary for Mr. Larry Joe Woodkins Mr. Larry Joe Woodkins, 60, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018. Larry Joe was born January 26, 1958 in Galveston, Texas to the late Gilbert and Louise Woodkins. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized under the late Rev. Thomas A. Lee, founder of Mount Zion Baptist Church. He later joined Truth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Johnny L. Grimes. Larry was a graduate of Texas City High School, class of 1976. He learned his craft from The Painters Local 585 in Texas City. With his sibling by his side, on June 23, 2018, Larry Joe gained his wings and was reunited with his parents, Gilbert and Louise, and his brother, John Sealy. Left to cherish his memories are his children: Damon (Amy), Raymond (Michelle), Larry, Jr. and Tamara; siblings: Gloria, Sandra, Connie (Rev. Grimes), Bobby and Brenda (his twin sister); grandchildren: Dayna, Darren, Alexandra, Aaron, Hailee, Ty’lynn, Tyler, Riley, Kaylib and Irreanna; special nieces and nephews: Valencia, Alsheenia, Xavier (Tra’Shawnda), La Tisha (Michael), Serafina and Michael; and a host of great nieces, nephews, and other family members. Devoted friends, Leonard (Bru) Fletcher, Vernon Spencer, Melvin Foreman, Ronnie Woods, Charles Bledsoe, Arthur Ray Davis, Gentre Swain and Doris Chatman will also cherish his memory. Pastor Larry Johnson will officiate the funeral service and Pastor Johnny L. Grimes will give the eulogy.
