Obituary for Joseph “Chief” Thirion A service in the memory of Joseph P. “Chief” Thirion, 58, will be at 8 PM on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Rev. Michael J. Currier will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Joe passed away on April 18, 2018. Born June 15, 1958 in Willoughby Hills, he was a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio and wintered in Florida. Joe was a big dreamer, expert collector and trader, a connoisseur of all things: cars, boats, and machines. He enjoyed the wild, hunting and fishing. Joe attended countless bike weeks and loved riding motorcycles. Joe was employed by the City of Kirtland for many years in the service department. Survivors are his loving daughter, Angela Thirion; dearest siblings, Michael (Char) Thirion, Mary Lou (Jim) Calandra, Mark (Kate) Thirion and Jimmy (Joyce) Thirion. He also leaves his former wife, Elaine Thirion; many nieces and nephews and their families; his sister-in-law, Regina Thirion and his longtime girlfriend, Terry Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn M. and Helen (Bozeglav) Thirion; his brother, George Thirion and his nephew, Jimmy Calandra. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions of fruit trees for planting at the family pond, as Joe wished. Order Flowers
