Obituary for Joseph J. Wester Joseph John Wester, of Buffalo, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri surrounded by his family, at the age of 59. Joseph was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 13, 1958 to the late Robert and Edith (Lajenese) Wester. Joe proudly served his Country in the United States Army from 1975-1983. He spent most of his service time in Germany where he became an Ammunition Specialist, earning him a Weapons Commendation for the M-16 rifle and an Expert Badge for hand grenades. While serving his County he married the love of his life; Miss Pamela Moore and Mr. Joseph Wester were united in marriage on March 10, 1976, this union was blessed with four daughters and a son. Joe loved the outdoors and the beauty the Ozarks had to offer with great fishing and hunting, both of which he really enjoyed; he also enjoyed music, motorcycles, and attending auctions. After spending several years driving a truck over the road, the importance of family was something Joe never took for granted, he adored his family, and by now 10 grandchildren followed; he never tired of being the husband, father, and grandfather that took up the biggest part of his life. He was devoted to his family until the end, and will be greatly missed. Joesph John Wester is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Pam Wester, of the home; children, Edie Mullins and husband Jacob, of Richland, MO, Katrina Kelder and husband Dave, of Buffalo, MO, Mariah Gallop, of Richland, MO, Melissa Craig and husband James, of Austin, TX, and Shane Whitmire, of Rockdale, TX; 7 siblings, 10 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by his sister Sandy. A Celebration of Life to honor a great man will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 3:00PM at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Craig Rippy officiating. Internment with full Military Honors will be at the Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville, Missouri with the procession led by the Patriot Guard. A visitation fro family and friends will be held prior to the service from 2PM until service time. Memorials are suggested to the Toys for Tots, cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
