John Tienter, age 70, of Onamia, MN formerly of Spring Valley died Monday, June 18, 2018 at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia. Memorial Service for John Tienter will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Valley Christian Center in Spring Valley with Pastor James Leonard officiating. Burial will be at Etna Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. John Tienter was born January 2, 1948 to Floyd and Virginia (Maricle) Tienter in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. He attended and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1966. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He loved to go fishing, gambling, and taking trips to the Casino. John was a member of the VFW. John is survived by his children Tammy (Ed) Tienter of Oakpark, MN and Timmothy (Tonia) Tienter of Vermilion, SD; 6 grandchildren: Ryan Long, Trenton Higgins, Tabitha Higgins, Chasity Higgins, Emily Tienter, and Cody Gassi; 4 great grandchildren: Maih, Audrey, Justin, and Ava; siblings: Roger Tienter of Ostrander, MN, Donna (Truman) Olsen of Grand Meadow, MN, Jerry (Pat) Tienter of Waterville, MN, Del Roy Tienter of Spring Valley, MN, and Mavis Jordon of Orion, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
