Obituary for JL Milby J L Milby Funeral services for Mr. J L Milby of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at The Gathering in West Monroe with Pastor Tim Mosher and Pastor Kevin Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Bastrop, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Milby was born December 4, 1932 in Winnsboro, LA and passed from this life on June 5, 2018 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 85. He was a member of The Gideons and the Free Masons and had been involved in nursing home and prison ministries throughout his life. He was a prayer warrior and a great man of faith. He enjoyed quail hunting with his brother-in-laws and “picking up golf balls. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Milby; one grandson, William Matthew Morton; his parents, Robert and Alma Milby; and three brothers, Alton, Billy Ray and Robert “Buck” Milby. Survivors include his children, Debbie Hall and husband, Tommy of Orange Beach, AL and Billy Morton of Crossett, AR; two sisters, Blondell Doolittle of West Monroe and Mary Hawthorne and husband, Lynn of Mangham; six grandchildren, Kasey, Gabriel, Jacob, Cliff, Clint and Mandi; thirteen great-grandchildren, Landon, Tyler Hall, Julie, Kaelan, Noah, Hailey, Aaron, Nic, Ayden, Ryder, Sawyer, Tyler Morris, McKenzie and Samantha; four great great-grandchildren, Lennon, Adelaide, Lilianna and Maddie; also survived by a host of extended family and friends. Pallbearers will be Tyler Hall, Jim York, Ralph May, Bobby Blair, Billy Smith, Doug Wall and Josh Thomas.
