Obituary for Jessica Lynn Rodriguez Jessica Lynn (Fate) Rodriguez, a caring, funny, and gracious; daughter, friend, mother, sister and wife, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2018. Jessica, 33, was born in Lansing, MI to Rick Fate and Tracy (Smith) Goedert. Jessica’s biggest pride and joy in her life was her son Arron and her wife Alejandra. Spending time with her family and friends was also very important to her. She will be remembered for always being there for people to talk to and to be a shoulder to cry on, even if she did not know them. Jessica had a heart of gold and was very respectful; this lead to her working in home health care, and later as a machine operator. When Jessica was in the room there was never a dull moment with her funny personality. She also enjoyed cooking, eating, movies, music and walking on nature trails. Jessica also had a love for horses. She recently shared a quote with her friends saying “Your mind is a garden; your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.” Jessica is survived by her wife, Alejandra “Honda” Rodriguez; son, Arron Auvenshine; mom, Tracy Goedert; siblings, Andrew and Theresa Goedert; nieces, Isabella Krawczyk and Layla Goedert; grandmother, Dona Smith; best friends, Kari Auvenshine, Courtney Oade and Melissa “Peanut” Lang. Jessica was predeceased by her first love, Arron Auvenshine Sr.; grandfather, Richard Smith; special parents, Dena and Robert Auvenshine; cousin, Lee Hansel; aunt, Vickie Hansel; and uncle, Mark Smith. Friends are encouraged to support Jessica’s family at a memorial celebration. The memorial celebration will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home.
