Jerrold Jessieho Houghton 2018

Jerrold S. “Jessieho” Houghton, age 75 of Salem, died peacefully on Monday June 25, 2018 at Salem Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was the husband of Ann E. (Stever) Houghton, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Lynn and raised in Swampscott he was the son of the late Austin and Barbara (Martin) Houghton. He had lived Swampscott until moving to Salem 45 years ago. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a commercial lobsterman, working out of Swampscott, for his entire life; continuing in his retirement to help his son and friends. A hard working man, he spent his life taking care of his family. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren and great grandchild were his pride and joy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 children; Cindy DeMille and her husband Michael of Salem, and Jerrold Houghton and his wife Laury of Beverly, his 6 grandchildren; Kayla, Justin, Blakely, Cassandra, Christyna, Christopher, a great grandson Dante, and a brother Charles Houghton of Bath Maine, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late David and Claire Houghton. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Gerry 5 Club 210 Beacon Street Marblehead on Friday July 20, 2018 from 3:00PM-7:00PM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his name to MGH Cancer Center 102 Endicott St. Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are under the direction of the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOMES 426 BROADWAY LYNN, MA 01904.
