Obituary of James Bell James “Jay” Edward Bell, 65, of Tonawanda, NY passed away May 26, 2018 in Buffalo, NY. Born September 10, 1952 in Dahlgren, VA, son of Robert T and Joyce (Hall) Bell. He married Katharine Thomas in 1974, they divorced in 1981. Their only child Robert Charles “Chuck” was born August 13, 1975. Jay graduated from Morse High School in Bath, ME in 1970 he then attended one year at Hobart College in NY. He served with the United States Army and was assigned to White Sands Missile Range in White Sands, NM. After he completed a tour in the USA, he attended New Mexico State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. After moving to Middletown, CT he was employed by Pratt and Whitney and then after moving to Newtonville, MA he was employed by GE in the Aircraft Engine Division. Jay enjoyed games and puzzles and was a fan of Science Fiction. He loved attending his grandchildren’s games, recitals and activities. Jay is survived by his Son Robert “Chuck” Bell; his daughter in law Katherine Bell; his grandchildren Thomas Martin Bell and Abigail Rose Bell; his parents Robert and Joyce Bell; his brother Steve Bell and his sister Elizabeth Gemma. A Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Living Faith United Methodist Church, 53 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam, CT.
