On May 31, 2018, James “Jim” Nathan Irby of Van passed from this earth to his heavenly home after a brief illness. Jim, known as Slim by his friends, was a person who was generous and loyal with a wacky sense of humor. He made it his goal to have someone always leave with a smile on their face. He enjoyed making people laugh. He loved dogs. Jim had many talents in life. He enjoyed music, drawing and painting. After a time of working in the world of food services and with award winning horses, he found his talents lay in construction and wood working. He gave his all, or at least part of his hand to his projects, and became accomplished in both home construction and on smaller personal projects. Jim had many friends and family who knew they could call on him in times of need. He was never hesitant to help people out, no matter if he knew them or not. Jim will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his mother Bee “Gerry” Cowgill, father William Irby, step father Robert Cowgill, and his brother Robert Perry Irby. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Irby of Fort Worth; his “Buckaroo” Randi Snoddy of Brooten, MN; niece Amiee Cowgill of Oklahoma City; and nephew Shawn Cowgill of Canton, as well as multitude of extended family and loyal friends.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of James Nathan Irby December 23 1954 May 31 2018 (age 63). Hiett’s Ly Brand Funeral Home
