JAMES HAROLD BRUNN June 21 2018

James Harold Brunn, of the Hampton House, Hanover Township, formerly of East Spring St., Nanticoke, entered eternal life on died Thursday, June 21, 2018. Born on January 2, 1936 in Hanover Township; his family moved to Nanticoke and he graduated from Blooomsburg State Teachers College (now known as Bloomsburg University) with a degree in English Education. He continued his education and earned his Master of Arts Degree in English from Pennsylvania State University, (University Park). James taught various subjects in elementary, middle and high school and most of his teaching career was spent in the Manville School District, Manville, NJ. He was an avid sports fan; he especially rooted for the New York Yankees, the Penn State Nittany Lions, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to name a few. He enjoyed raising English Springer Spaniels as well. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Brunn (nee: Morgan), father, Henry and two brothers, Herman of Manville and Edward of Blakeslee Corner. James is survived by two nieces, Mary of Manville, NJ; Frances Brzycki of Estero, FL and one nephew, Dr. James E. Brunn, of Manville, NJ. He also is the great uncle to Dr. Ryan Brzycki of Ohio; Kyle Brzycki of Hillsborough and James Robert Brunn and Ann Brunn of Manville. Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 25, 2018, at 10:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with interment following in Maple Hill Cemetery, next to his mother. Visitation will be from 9:30 am, Monday, until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a local food bank.
