James Edwin Williams Jr June 9 1929 May 30 2018 (age 88)

James Edwin Williams, Jr., 88, of Kinston passed away peacefully on May 30, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro. Jim was born to James and Evelyn Williams of Huntington, WV on June 9, 1929. Serving nearly 6 years in the US Navy, Jim met and married his wife, Jesma White Barr while stationed in Norfolk, VA. After completing his service, he embarked on a long career with Joy Manufacturing Co. (later Cooper Industries) as a Design Engineer and retired as Cost Improvements Coordinator. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his first wife, Jesma, and a second wife, the former Bessie McCoy of Hugo. He is survived by his third wife, Dorothy McKeel of Goldsboro; a son, Jim Williams and wife Corinne of Greenville; daughter, Cindy Malloy and husband John of Newcomerstown, OH; grandson and granddaughter, Nicky and Jennifer Williams of Kinston, along with several great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Allen Stocks officiating. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center for all of their love and support.
