Obituary for James D. Patton Sr. James D. Patton Sr., age 74, of Irwin, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018. He was born September 24, 1943 in McKeesport, a son of the late William Roland and Ruth Elizabeth (Campbell) Patton. James proudly served his country for over 22 years in the Air Force including time in Vietnam. After he retired from active duty, he worked as a carpenter. He is a long-time member of the VFW and American Legion. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Dorthy Patton and brothers Bill and Bruce. He is survived by his wife Connie (Black) Patton; sons James D. (Jayne) Patton Jr. of Monroeville, Wilson Patton of Jeanette, and John Patton or Irwin; sister Florence (Bill) Lehnhardt of Stafford, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the William Snyder Funeral home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. Military honors will be conducted at 7 p.m. at the funeral home to honor his long Air Force career. Memorial contributions can be made the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
