Obituary for Iris J. Hagen Iris J. Hagen (1921-2018) CEDAR FALLS – Iris J. Hagen, 96, of Cedar Falls died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born December 4, 1921 in Roland, Iowa, daughter of Sanford and Eythel Bernadine (Stone) Olson. She married Russell C. Hagen on September 3, 1941 in Roland. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2004. She worked at the Rath Packing office, the Lutheran Home; Carolyn’s Fashion Fabrics and the Hagen “U Pick” Strawberry Farm, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Survived by: two daughters, Asenath (Peter) Poulos of Glendora, CA, and Valari (Bob) Kaiser of Palmer; two sons, Kevin (Sue) Hagen of Cedar Falls and Randy Hagen of West Des Moines; seven grandchildren: Shawn Hagen, Chad Hagen, Molly Van Hemert, Erin Hagen, Rachel Neddermeyer, Jonathan Kaiser, Julie Pavlidis; fourteen great grandchildren: Stephen and Christina Pavlidis, Rylee, Jordyn, Alicyn, Kolbie Neddermeyer, Liam Hagen, Arianna, Ellyanna, Kayleanna, Bo, Lilyanna and Eric Hagen, and Cohen Van Hemert. Preceded in death by: a brother, Wayne Olson; and great grandchild, Whit Hagen. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 4 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in the Roland Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 3 at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice. Iris fulfilled many areas of worship and service at St. Paul Lutheran Church over 65 years. She enjoyed making quilts and school bags for L.W.R and made “pillow case” dresses and shorts for orphan children.
