Herman J D’Alessandro Jr 2018

Herman J. D’Alessandro, Jr., 86, of Port Charlotte passed away June 9, 2018. He was the son of Herman J. and Mary D’Alessandro, Sr., born June 29, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA. Herman was the owner and head chef for Sinn’s Restaurant and Catering in Seaside Heights, NJ for over 40 years. He served as president of the Seaside Heights Business Assn. and was founder of the present-day Columbus Day Parade. He had an honorary day named after him, May 15. Forty-three years ago, he became a husband, father, and grandfather all in one “I do!” He loved the Phillies and the Eagles and will be remembered for his sense of humor and infectious laugh. Herman moved to this area 22 years ago after retiring. Herman was a loving husband to his wife of 43 years, Edith; he will be greatly missed by daughters, Lucille (Geoff) Graham and Roberta (Jeff Copeman) Marcellus; brothers, Joseph (Lorraine) and Henry (Marie); sisters, SR John Christi IHM, Delores and Mary; dear family friend, Christina “Kissy Face” Boyhan; grandchildren Michael (Denise) Graham, Shannon Graham, and Nicole (Eric Murray) Stout; and 4 great-grandsons. The service in celebration of Herman’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to IHM Camilla Hall, 1145 King Rd., Immaculata, PA 19345.
