Herman E. (Gene) Mazzoni Herman Eugene Mazzoni, 79, of Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, at UPMC-Shadyside Hospital. The son of Herman and Helen Mazzoni, he was born March 20, 1939, in East Brady, PA. Mr. Mazzoni was a 1961 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed by the Elliott Company from 1966–2000. He was married Feb 24, 1962 to Connie Culbertson. He loved her dearly and cared for her nearly 54 years. She preceded him in death November 28, 2015. Mr. Mazzoni enjoyed a long career of volunteer service as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He used his skills to serve God and others, and this endeared him to them throughout countless projects and assignments. He will be remembered most for his love and devotion to God, his family, and his meticulous organization. Surviving are his children, Deborah Salley and husband Steven of Indiana, and Steve Mazzoni and wife Kim of Wallkill, N.Y.; granddaughter, Mandy Sowers and husband Bob, of Indiana; great-granddaughter, Mia Kellar of Indiana. Mr. Mazzoni was preceded in death by his wife Connie, his parents, and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 450 East Pike Rd, Indiana, PA 15701.
