Dudley….Harold Andrew Rizner, 96, a life-long resident of Dudley, passed away Saturday June 9, 2018. He was born on May 9, 1922, in Dudley, MA, to John Rizner and Anna (Knapp) Rizner. He proudly served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded during the battle of Iwo Jima. Upon his return home, Harold worked for the United States Postal Service in Southbridge, MA, until retirement. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude L. (Casavant) Rizner, his sister Anna Mae and his brothers Edward Rizner, George Rizner, Albert Rizner, John Rizner and James Rizner. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, a cousin and a sister-in-law, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care at Brookside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Webster, MA. In keeping with the wishes of Harold A. Rizner there will be no funeral service. Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550 is directing the arrangements.
