Glenda “Gayle” Parker Elkins, 68, of Columbus, GA passed away late Friday night, June 22, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EDT Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel (Vance Brooks Funeral Home) in Phenix City with Rev. Bill Mayhew officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home in Phenix City. Mrs. Elkins was born July 10, 1949 in Zebulon, GA to the late Forrest Randolph Parker and Anna Elizabeth Gresham Parker. She was employed with Blue Cross – Blue Shield of Georgia and was retired with many years of loyal service. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, loving her family, and spending quality time with all her grandchildren. She was member of Central Baptist Church in Columbus. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Elkins, one sister, Kathy Pate, and a brother, Randy Parker. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Marvin B. Elkins of Columbus, GA, daughter, Vicki Brooks and husband Shannon of Phenix City, AL, son, Brian Elkins and wife Summer of Midland, GA, one sister, Diane Jefferies and husband Greg of Columbus, GA; (4) grandchildren, Jace Elkins, Zella Elkins, Megan McCall, and Josh McCall, (3) great grandchildren, Addison, Tristian, and Joshua, several nieces and nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.
