Obituary for Gladys Colleen Rowley On the evening of June 5, 2018 our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Gladys Colleen Stowe Rowley passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Gladys (the third oldest of five daughters and three sons) was born on April 25, 1926 to Myrtle and Lyman Stowe in Black Rock, Millard County, Utah. Gladys married the love of her life, Kenneth Merrald Rowley “Ponka”, on November 19, 1946 at Memory Grove in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gladys is survived by her son, David Rowley (Linda), her daughter, Linda Marcario (John), Sherry Rowley, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Early in her life, Gladys was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a second counselor in Primary, as well as a Beehive leader and Sunday School chorister. Family was of utmost importance to Gladys and brought the greatest joy to her life. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, collecting antiques, camping, fishing, and sightseeing while traveling around the country with her husband and family in their motorhome. Mom, Grandma, Sister, and “Happy Bottom” – we love you with all of our hearts and will miss you. We have great peace and comfort knowing you are with Ken “Ponka” again. We’re certain he built you quite the castle.
