Gladis E. Meyer, 94, of Rockford passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018. Born January 5, 1924 in Chicago to Edgar and Esther (Swanson) Swanberg. Married Gerald A. Meyer June 14, 1946 in Rockford. A member of First Evangelical Covenant Church where she was active in the Arlene Circle and enjoyed spending time with her church friends. Survivors include children, Judy (Michael) Fasula of Rockton, John Meyer of Frankfort; grandchildren, Heather (Larry) Heidenrich, Samuel Fasula, Dominic (Jenni) Fasula, Mandi (Chuck) Rumpf, Jason Meyer; great grandchildren, Brynn, Ashlyn Heidenreich, Kenzi Prosser, Kaiya, Ezra, Vinny Fasula, Julia Meyer; brother, Philip (Virginia) Swanberg; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband; infant daughter, Lucille; daughter, Janice Meyer; brothers, Robert, Tyler Swanberg; and sister, Esther Johnson. Private family services are to be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to be used in Gladis’s name at a later date.
