God, in Perfect Love, raised the soul of “Jerry” Feck, to Eternal Life in Heaven on June 09, 2018. Jerry was born to Joseph and Mary (Adams) Feck on October 27, 1933, the oldest of five children and oldest paternal grandchild. In his youth, Jerry ‘hawked’ The Toledo Times newspaper at Starr and Dearborn in Toledo. He then cut lawns and worked at the A&P Grocery Store on Starr Ave. in E. Toledo prior to his lifelong work as a glazier for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company for 25 years… Read More » and continuing his trade out of union halls in Ohio and Colorado until his retirement. Jerry was a former president of Local Union 948 Glass Workers and a member of the committee that formed the union’s pension. He was on Maumee-St. Joseph’s School Board for two terms, and had enjoyed ushering at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. Jerry attended St. Thomas Aquinas and Raymer Elementary Schools and Waite High School in Toledo. On May 29, 1954, Gerald married Catherine Heinl and they celebrated 64 years of marriage. They each were fortunate to have been born into families containing a great many relatives. Jerry cherished his wife, nine children, 33 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, his siblings, and many relatives and friends. He enjoyed constructing and flying radio-controlled aircraft. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, a Life Member of the Weak Signals R/C Club of which he was a former president, trustee, treasurer, and secretary, and was the first president of the Recker Road R/C Club, a member of the Black Sheep R/C Club, and former member of the Flying Cowboys R/C Club. As an R/C team pilot entertaining in Col. Betkey’s Flying Circus, Jerry and the team performed shows for charitable institutions in Ohio, Louisiana, and Canada. The show’s R/C pilots in yellow jump suits with black accessories, featured a master of ceremonies, complete with music, an aerodynamic flying lawnmower, aerodynamic Snoopy on a doghouse, fiery hoops, racing planes, parachuting G.I. Joes, and clowns. Surviving Gerald, are his wife, Catherine; sons, Joseph (Anne), Norman (Kateri), Martin (Sherry), and Steven (Melanie); daughters, Margaret (Stephen) Pauken, Deborah (Sonny) Osterberg, Barbara (Rusty) Van Newhouse, and Mary Catherine (James) Savage; his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Yvonne), and Norman (Susan); sister, Alice (Lyle) Metzger, and sister-in-law, Bernice Feck. Predeceasing Gerald, were his parents, son John Joseph Feck, grandson Edward Feck, great-grandson Carter Feck, brother Richard, and several unborn descendants in the dawn of their lives. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd, Waterville (419-878-6530), with a Rosary Service at 7:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway St., Maumee, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 910 W. Wayne Street in Maumee. Jerry’s family is grateful to those who offered prayers for Jerry and gave moral support to him. They also wish to thank Dr. Richard A.
