George Borges, age 84 of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Somerset Ridge Center. George was born in Fall River, a son of the late Eugene and Georgina (Mello) Borges. George proudly served his country with the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Borges is survived by his children, Kenneth Borges of Fall River, Joyce Ryan of KY, Thomas Borges, Beverly and Donna Borges all of Somerset, He was also the brother of the late Angello Borges, Maura Quintal, Diana Malone, Mary Medeiros and Gilda Dankievitch. George’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 9am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Saint Francis of Assisi Church Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea. Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to any organization to help an animal in George’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
