Obituary of Gary Brooks BROOKS, Gary Born November 13, 1960, entered into rest on May 31, 2018 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Gary was born in Elmira, NY. He was the son of Donald Brooks Sr. and the late Agnes Jean Brooks. He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Mahogany Brooks of Florida and Jasmine Tomisman of Elmira, NY. He was loved by his grandchildren: Dyne’jah – Miehyri – Isreial Jr – Nejsarieh – Sariehjah- Legacy, Jayelle Tomisman, Jaslene Tomisman and a host of nieces and nephews. Gary is survived by brothers Donald Brooks, Reginald Brooks, Pastor Kenneth Brooks, all of Elmira, NY, Robert Brooks Sr. of Laurel, MD and sisters Yolanda Tann of Philadelphia, PA and Nicole Brooks of Elmira, NY. Gary attended Elmira Free Academy and was employed with various food industries as a chef within the southern tier for over ten years. Gary will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a quiet, gentle soul that always greeted you with a warm smile. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 at Faith Temple Community Church, Harper St., Elmira, NY with time for visitation at 12 noon, and service at 1:00PM.
