Gary McNeilly Coggins August 22 1941 June 8 2018 (age 76)

Gary McNeilly Coggins, age 76, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at WakeMed Cary Hospital. He was born in Lee County on August 22, 1941 to the late W.C. Coggins and Fannie Flow Coggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Coggins Battle; two brothers, Joe and Kent Coggins and a sister, Jean Wicker. He was a retired tool and die maker. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Gray Bennett Coggins; two sons, Jeff Coggins and wife, Rhonda of Sanford, Neil Coggins and wife, Wanda of Sanford; one step-son, Kent Watts of Sanford; three step-daughters, Karen Hurlman and husband, John of Holly Springs, Kendra Zobel of Louisburg and Pam Cowan of Holly Springs; son-in-law, Jeff Battle of Wilmington; two brothers, Johnny Coggins and wife, Marsha of Sanford and Victor Coggins and wife, Lou of Sanford; one sister, Judy Coggins and husband, Mel Johnson of Kernersville; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Flat Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Pleasants and Rev. Mike Matson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
