Burlington-Gary Dean Cox, 67, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Chester Eugene and Mary Catherine Harris Cox. Gary spent time when he was younger helping his parents farm until his health declined. He was a member of West Burlington Church of God. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his brothers, Danny Clay Cox of Burlington,… Read More » Troy Cox and wife, Corrina Cox, Allen Cox and wife, Betty and Jerry Wayne Cox all of Elon; sister, Cathy Darlene and husband, Randy Hinshaw of Burlington; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dwight Edward Cox and sister-in-law, Linda Cox. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Olin Tatum and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 PM prior to the service on Friday. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
