Fred C. George, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born September 27, 1922 in Winchester, MA, he was the son of the late Charles T. George and Myra (Brockbank) Holland. He was first married to Janet A. (Keesey) George for over 56 years until her death on September 10, 2004. He was then married to Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Paterson) George for nearly 10 years until her death on October 6, 2014. A Veteran of WWII, Fred proudly served with the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He continued his service through the Army Reserves retiring as a Major. He was the owner/operator of an accounting firm in York. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by three daughters: Carole A. Auker and husband, Scott, of Mifflin, Christine G. Valentin, of Lancaster and Connie E. Sylvanus and husband, John, of York. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as his extended family and caring friends. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with full military honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.
