Obituary for Flora Baker Flora Mickle Baker, 87, born March 21, 1931, passed away on June 18, 2018, at Harbor Chase Assisted Living and Memory Care. The family will receive friends at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 20, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Ebenezer ARP Church on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11:00 am. Born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late Lawrence Rembert Mickle and Pearl Sherer Mickle. She attended Winthrop Training School and Winthrop College, and later worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Rock Hill Printing and Finishing (the “Bleachery”), Alliance, The Audiology Center, and Winthrop University. She was a lifetime member of Ebenezer ARP Church in Rock Hill. Known by family members as “Flossie”, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, and anything that involved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zerry Conway Baker, as well as, seven sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Baker Holland, son-in-law, Kirk Holland; grandchildren, Riley Elizabeth Holland and Hayden Justin Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to all of the staff at Harbor Chase Assisted Living and Memory Care for the love and kindness they have shown to Mrs. Baker over the past year.
