Flora Mae Bower, 100, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Flora was born on April 22, 1918 in White Plains, Kentucky to Ellis and Effie (Sarber) Hendrix. On December 19, 1937, in South Bend, Indiana, Flora married Norman D. Bower who preceded her in death in 1978. She worked as an assembler at American Home Foods for 10 years and was a former member of Grace Baptist Church. Flora is survived by two sons, Herman (Barbara) Bower of South Bend, Indiana and Terry (Grace) Bower of La Porte, Indiana; three grandchildren, Cindy (Paul) Falete, Cheri Dolan, and Chris Glen; seven great-grandchildren, Tygre, Jade, Brandon, Teri, Allison, Cory and Nic; five great-great grandchildren, Cash, Adah, Isla, Stark and Alyvia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson, Michael Bower; and a sister, Beatrice Holley. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. CST, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. CST, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, with Reverend Rod Nielson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery.
