Obituary for Evelyn Nerenberg Nerenberg, Evelyn passed away peacefully on June 20 at the age of 86. Preceded in death by loving husband Dr. Sidney Nerenberg. Survived by children Dr. Lex (Leslie) Nerenberg, Dr. Jeff (Linda) Nerenberg, Dr. Jan (Fred) Apple and Jill (Les) Korsh. Evelyn will be missed by her grandchildren Mark and Amanda Nerenberg, Marissa and Jay Jackson, Josh and Caitlin Nerenberg, Jaci Nerenberg, Liz Apple, Molly Apple, Shayna Korsh and Michael Korsh as well as her great granddaughter Stella Rae Nerenberg. Evelyn was a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and received a Master’s Degree from the College of St. Thomas. She helped found the depression unit at the former St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis and was later a practicing clinical therapist in Edina up until the time of her recent illness. Donations to the Mental Health Education Conference at Jewish Family and Children’s Services (Minneapolis) or donor’s choice. Funeral service Thursday, (TODAY) 2:00 PM at Adath Jeshurun Congregation, 10500 Hillside Lane, Minnetonka. Interment Minneapolis Jewish Cemetery.
