Obituary for Ethel Irene Kristoff Hurley Ethel Irene Kristoff Hurley, 91, of Columbus, passed away peacefully June 26, 2018. Born March 1, 1927 in Columbus, graduate of South High School, met and married Richard Hurley June 3, 1950. Together they had 5 children. Ethel worked for Ohio Bell, sold Avon for 55 years, finally retiring from The Ohio State University after 25 years. Ethel was a passionate Buckeye Fan, always ensuring those around her were appropriately attired in Scarlet & Gray. She was a faithful & dedicated member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, a member of Clintonville Woman’s Club, Assistance League and Avon President’s Club. Ethel was a strong role model to so many and a devout Christian. She will be greatly missed. Preceded by husband Richard; sons, David and Kevin; parents, Alex and Clara (Simon) Kristoff; sisters, Marguerite Boros and Jean Hussey. Survived by daughters, Pamela (Michael) Morrison & Irene (Mark) Smith; son, Brent Hurley; grandchildren, Erin (Troy Ash) Morrison, Brendan (Elizabeth) Morrison, Hannah Smith, Jaclyn Hurley, Richard (Alyson) Hurley & Jordan (Jamie) Hurley; great grandchild, Oliver Hurley; brother-in-law, Jerry Hussey; many nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon) Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 4131 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214 with a reception to follow in the Parlor. Rev. William Gause, officiating. Private Interment: Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday in the Parlor at Overbrook Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Overbrook Presbyterian Church.
