Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Louise Sitz O’Dear, age 67 of Decherd. As her family surrounded her, Mrs. O’Dear passed from this life into life eternal on May 30, 2018 at Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center. A native of Grundy County, she made her home in Decherd with her husband and family. She was a 1969 Graduate of the Tennessee Preparatory School of Nashville. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ at Oak Grove for more than 40 years. In addition to being a homemaker for her family, she worked as a press operator at Lanier Industries. She shared her cooking skills and talent in school kitchens, feeding and befriending many pupils over those years. In addition to her cooking talent she also had a green thumb, raising a beautiful array of flowers from her assortment of flower beds. She will be remembered as a devoted and doting grandmother to her grandson, Luke. Throughout her life she displayed a wonderful sense of humor and a generous and giving spirit, always prepared to help those in need. She loved to shop and was ready to travel anywhere at the drop of a hat. Mrs. O’Dear is preceded in death by her mother, Ovie Nunley Sitz and her father, Charles Harvey Sitz; daughter, Donna Marie O’Dear; brothers, Charles Edward Sitz, Jerry R. Sitz and Edward Sitz. She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her untimely passing, her husband of 42 year, Dennis W. O’Dear; daughter, Denise (Billy) Kimbril of Decherd; her grandson, Luke Kimbril; sisters, Darlene Sitz of Manchester, Ruth (Jack) Holland of Whitwell, Marie (Jim) Burrows of Coalmont, Willie Jo Medley of Pelham; brother, Robert (Brenda) Sitz of Pelham. The family will receive friends Saturday June 2, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Interment will be at Watson-North Funeral Home with Michael D. Cowan, Randy B. Cowan, Luke Kimbrel Donnie Gipson, Jim Campbell, Dan Henson and Billy Campbell serving as pallbearers.
